Morden, George
b. 1740
Yorkshire, England
d. 1818
W. Flamboro Twp, Wentworth, ON, Canada.[1]
George was born about 1740 in England, the son of George Morden and Emma Unknown. He emigrated to America and settled in colonial New Jersey. He and his family were Loyalists during the American Revolution, or at least sympathizers, and his brother was convicted and executed for supplying the British. Some of his children were given restitution in Canada in recognition of this support after the war, a necessary remedy to their persecution in New Jersey. George relocated to Canada a few years later, possibly after the death of his wife. He passed away there after 1818.
