Biographie

Joseph was born in 1739. He was the son of Jean François Moreau and Anne Dionne.

Après le décès de Simon Caron, Marthe Tondreau épouse Joseph Moreau, fils de Jean et de Josette Dionne de la paroisse de Ste-Anne, le 5 février 1759 à l'Islet. Sont présents: Jean Guy François duTremble du côté de l'époux, Joseph Tondreau, Alexis et Claude Caron du côté de l'épouse.[1]

Marié le 16 novembre 1801 (lundi), Saint-Pierre-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud, avec Louise-Françoise CARON, née le 4 avril 1727 (vendredi) L'Islet, baptisée le 4 avril 1727 (vendredi) - L'Islet, décédée (Parents : François CARON 1675-1733 & Françoise PARÉ 1685-1733)

Joseph Moreau, widower of Marthe Tondreau, and Louise Francoise Caron, widow of Joseph Morin, were married 16 Nov 1801 in the parish of Saint-Pierre-de-la-Rivière-du-Sud, Bas-Canada. [2]

Joseph Moreau "de son vivant ancien agriculteur qui vivait de ses rentes est décédé le 4 janvier 1811 à l'Islet et a été inhumé le troisième jour après son décès.... il était époux à défunte Françoise Carron"; ont assisté à la sépulture: François Lamar vice-bedeau, les sieurs Louis Marie Carron, Giles Bourg, Hilaire Gamache et beaucoup d'autres.[3]
