↑Descendants of Patrick Moreland Rob Moreland Note: This was originally a website maintained by Rob Moreland. However, some time ago he took the website down and changed his email address, dropping out of touch completely. I was fortunate enough to print out many of the web pages before they were lost. His research was invaluable as a model of how to do genealogy, and as a starting point for my own research into this ancient branch of my own family.
Elias Moreland, son of George, married Miriam Sewell. They were the parents of twelve children living to maturity, six sons and six daughters, and had the distinction of having thirteen sons and sons-in-law in the two armies in the Civil War (one of the girls was married twice; her first husband died in the southern army, and she later married a man who had served in the Union Army). Their children were: Elias, George, Thomas, Irby, Pleasant, William M. (Bucky Bill), Eliza C., Miriam, Nancy, Jane, Samantha, and Mary Caroline Moreland. We have no record of Elias, and he probably either returned to or remained in the south after the war.

However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elias:
Moreland-1094 and Moreland-156 appear to represent the same person because: same parents, same wife and identical death, Moreland-1094 is without reliable sources
