You wrote, My family's tree shows John W. Germroth (Germroth-2) as the brother of George Germroth (Germroth-16). I was wondering if you'd come across any information that can confirm this.
It is possible that John W. Germroth is related to George Germroth. The 1900 census says his parents are Germans. Also, Find A Grave says he was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential.
