Their family resided in Owen County, where Lewis was a farmer.[2][3][4][5]
Lewis passed away in Cass Township, Texas County, Missouri on 16 Dec 1885, the cause of death recorded as typho malaria pneumonia. He had been a resident of Cass for about nine months.[6][7]
Interment was at the family cemetery on 17 Dec 1885.[8]
