Biography

Amy Morgan was born in Connecticut in 1783, the daughter of Nathan Morgan and Jerusha Benton.[1] The exact date of their migration to Scott's Corners, Cortland County, is unknown, but it is likely around 1800 since the area was not settled before that. Amy taught at the very first school.

Amy married Solomon in 1802 or 1803 when she was about 20 years old. Their marriage was the first marriage in Cortland County. [2] Their children were:

2. Morgan Babcock 1806 - 1883
3. Ross Babcock 1809 - m. Lydia Wells
4. Ralph Babcock 1810 - m. Azubah Dodge

10. Chauncy Babcock 1822 - 1844
11. Curtis Babcock 1824 -

The family was active in the local Baptist church where Solomon was a deacon.

Morgan-17956 and Morgan-13653 appear to represent the same person because: I did not initially find your Amy Morgan and created a new one for her. I'd like to merge them.
