Mary Ann (Morgan) Wikel was born in October 1813.[1] Mary Ann married Philip Wikle, Jr. According to the Census of 1830-taken in Silver Creek, Greene County, Ohio-Philip and his family were enumerated there. Also enumerated on the same census (1830), a Thomas Morgan (p 13/22) lived in Silver Creek with his family enumerated as: two males under 5 years, one male between 5-10 years, and one male between 40-50 years (Thomas) along with one female under 5 years, one female 15-20 years (Mary Ann?), and one female 30-40 years (Mary Ann's mother?). There were no other Morgans enumerated in Silver Creek at that time. The assumption is made here that this is Mary Ann's father or a relative (Thomas Morgan) until another source can be found.[2]
Mary Ann married Philip Wikel on 8 November 1832 in Greene, Ohio, by Christopher Kaysey, Justice of the Peace. On the marriage record Philip's last name is spelled Wical.[3]
Mary Ann (Morgan) Wikel was the mother of Anna Jane (Wikel) Stephens, Daniel Wikel,
