Biography

Marie Anne Morgan was born on 11 January 1820 in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana, United States, the daughter of Solomon Morgan and Anne Faulk. She was baptized on 7 May 1820 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville.[1][2]

Mary married Thomas Hoffpauir on 23 February 1832 in Lafayette, Lafayette Parish.[3][4] Their known children were:

  1. Minerva Hoffpauir (1837–1895)
  2. Mary Ann Hoffpauir (1837–abt.1886)
  3. Susan Hoffpauir (abt.1839–1912)
  4. Eastin Hoffpauir (abt.1840 - )[5]
  5. Lorenzo Hoffpauir (abt.1843 - )[5]
  6. Seaborn Hoffpauir (abt. 1847 - )[5]
  7. Thomas Hoffpauir (1849–1940)
  8. Mathilda Hoffpauir (1854–abt.1927)

In 1850, the family was living on a farm in Western District Ward 5, Vermilion Parish, Louisiana.[5]

Mary died on 14 February 1858 in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, aged 36.[citation needed]
