Biography
Mordecai Morgan, the son of Captain Mordecai Morgan and Mary Davis, was a Surgeon in the U.S. Navy from 1818-1841. He died on 22 July 1841 (aged 51) while in the service. At the time of his death he was the Fleet Surgeon of the West Indies Squadron. A cenotaph in his honor was erected at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, United States. He is buried Pensacola, Florida, where he died.[1]
