Goulburn Evening Post (NSW : 1940 - 1954), Tuesday 9 March 1954. [1] OBITUARY MR. W. J. MORGAN The death occurred in hospital on February 24, of Walter John Morgan, after an illness of six weeks. The deceased was born at Chatsbury 85 years ago, and lived the early part of his life there. In his early twenties he went to Victoria, and for some time worked on, the goldfields of Bendigo and Castlemaine. After his marriage in 1908 to Miss Alice Peters, (who died in 1934) Mr. Morgan purchased a property at Bowning. He lived here till 1950, when the management of his property proved too exacting. After 42 years at Bowning he retired and lived with various friends in the Goulburn district until his death. Burial took place at the Bowning cemetery, the service at the graveside being conducted by the Rev. H. P. Reynolds, of Yass.
