United States Census History

1870 Census - says born in NY, married to Laura, 1 child; farm hand; lived in Friars Point
1880 Census - says Sam 38, born in Connecticut; children Wesley (10) Jno?(7) Lucy (5), Sallie (3) Rich (1); says parents both born in MO or MD
1890 Census - John 5/1874, Sallie 12/1876, Richard 3/1879, Mary 1/1882, Bettie 5/1886, Benjamin 10/1888, Edward 2/1891, Leona 5/1893 "Rosie", Fred 1/1896. Other census records list Wesley as oldest 1871 and Lucy 1875. Also, Williams (Cora) lived nearby - on same census page. Could read and write. Cora and Richard married. House may have been near jail/convicts.
1900 census says he was born Maryland[1]
1920 Census - Shows adopted son Samuel Morgan(12) and adopted daughter Francis Trent (9)
