He married Sarah Philips on 2 Dec 1866 in Marion, Iowa. [3] BY October of 1879 when his daughter Christina was born Samuel was married to Alice Myers. [4] Samuel is listed with his wife Alice and seven
children in the 1880 US Census for Clay, Marion, Iowa. [5]
Samuel died on 3 August 1920 in Ottumwa, Wapello, Iowa and was buried in Highland Cemetery , Mystic, Appanoose County, Iowa. [6]
