Catherine Morgan is said to be the daughter of Thomas Morgan of Monmouthshire, Wales. Thomas was from a long line of Morgans who had lived in Monmouthshire for many generations. He was a member of the landed gentry, a Esquire; one step below a Knight, one up from a gentleman. He was not Sir Thomas. Thomas lived and died in Wales. There is no reason to believe that he lived in Ireland, the supposed place of Catherine's birth. In fact, the idea of a Welsh gentleman residing in the Irish Catholic held County of Clare seems to fly in the face of history. [1]

Thomas is not known to have lived in Denmark where Catherine is said to have married at age 15. (Based on the year of her first son's birth-1619) According to the book on the Morgan family, Thomas and his wife Catherine Herbert did have a daughter named Catherine but the book claims she married what must have been a cousin, Thomas Morgan. [2]She was not named in her father's will. [3]

It should be noted that the story of Catherine Morgan and William Smith Bryan is not supported by a single piece of documented evidence. [4]

Catherine Morgan should be detached from parents as there is no proof of their relationship.
Morgan-15289 and Morgan-853 appear to represent the same person because: Looks like a duplicate. Will need post merger edit.
