Biography

Pierre Morin was born on February 21 and baptized on February 22, 1823 at Kamouraska to André Morin and Marie Céleste Pelletier. His godparents were Charles Pelletier and Françoise Morin[1][2].

He married Domithilde Lepage on October 7, 1857 in Trois-Pistoles[3]. They had thirteen children:

  • Marie Célina Adèle Morin born July 31, 1858 in Trois-Pistoles[4]
  • Pierre Morin born February 24, 1862 in Trois-Pistoles[5]
  • Marie Philomène Morin born October 26, 1863 in Trois-Pistoles[6]
  • Marie Claire Morin born December 15, 1864 in Trois-Pistoles[7]
  • Marie Hélène Morin born July 23, 1866[8] and died January 24, 1867 in Trois-Pistoles[9]
  • Marie Hélène Morin born November 30, 1867 in Trois-Pistoles[10]
  • Marie Elise Morin born February 14, 1870 in Trois-Pistoles[11]
  • Marie Morin born June 12, 1871[12] and died July 11, 1871 in Trois-Pistoles[13]
  • Joseph Philippe Morin born November 17, 1872 in Trois-Pistoles[14]
  • Joseph Charles Morin born March 3, 1875 in Trois-Pistoles[15]
  • Joseph Fortunat Morin born November 8, 1876[16] and died February 26, 1877 in Trois-Pistoles[17]
  • Joseph Morin born December 15, 1877 in Trois-Pistoles[18]
  • Marie Elmina Morin born August 2, 1880 in Trois-Pistoles[19]

In 1861, Pierre and Domithilde were living in Trois-Pistoles with their daughter Adèle. Philomène Lavoie and Sophie Côté were also residing with them[20].

Pierre and Domithilde were residing with his brother André during the 1871 census with their children Adèle, Pierre, Philomène, Clairina, Hélène, and Alice. Their brother Bénonie's children were also residing with them[21].

They were still living in Trois-Pistoles during the 1881 census. Their children Adèle, Pierre, Philomène, Clairina, Hélène, Alice, Philippe, Charles, Josephat, and Marie were living with them[22].

In 1891, Pierre and Domithilde were still residing in Trois-Pistoles with their children Adèle, Alice, Philippe, Charles, Josephat, and Marie. Pierre's brother André was also living with them[23].

Pierre died on October 11, 1896 in Trois-Pistoles at the age of seventy-three. He was buried on October 14[24].
