Biography

Birth and Baptism
Marie Josephte Morin was born on 13 Sep 1818 and was baptized the same day at Saint-Joseph de Deschambault, Bas-Canada.[1] She was the daughter of Joseph Morin and Marie Louise (Germain dit Belisle).[2]

Marriage
Zéphirin Germain and Marie Josephte Morin were married on 26 Nov 1839 at Saint-Joseph de Deschambault, Bas-Canada.[3] The descendants of this union are covered in the "Germain/Morin Family Book", starting on pg 115.[4]

The Germain family relocated from Canada to Wisconsin in about 1856.

The 1880 US census shows Marie Josephine and husband Zephirin were living in the home of their son Joseph and his family.[5] There were a total of 10 Germains in the house, spanning 3 generations, a common occurrence in those days.

In 1900, Josephine Germain was living with her son's family in Somerset, St. Croix, Wisconsin.[6]

The 1905 Wisconsin state census shows 86 year old Josephine at her son's home in Somerset about 2 years before her death.[7]

She died at the age of 88, on 7 June 1907, and is buried at the St Anne's cemetery in Somerset, St. Croix County, Wisconsin, USA.

Research note

Josette, Josephine, Josephte, found multiple versions of name. Marie was shown as first or middle name in various sources. Maiden name appears as either Morin or Moren.

Morin-3133 and Morin-1985 appear to represent the same person because: Same husband and other information

I assume this is you suggesting we take the next step to merging these two, in response to me identifying them as a match a few days ago? I am all for it, but I want to make sure that they merge DOWN to the lower # Morin-1985, rather than the newer version Morin-3133. I wish the WikiTree system was more clear which way the merge will take place. There were a total of at least 6 duplicates (of different people) that I found, mostly Germains, that I marked as "Matches" a few days ago. I will wait a little while in case you have any important input, then I will attempt to complete the merge.

Certainly concur with merge to lower numbered profile.
