Robert Morin est probablement né en France^[1], on ne connait pas sa date de naissance, 1674 est une estimation de Nos origines, sans fondement, aucun acte trouvé ne lui donne d'âge. Très peu probable qu'il n'eut que 16 ans lors de son mariage.

Mariage
Françoise Mignier a épousé Robert Morin vers 1690, l'endroit et la date du mariage sont inconnus. Seraient-ils mariés en Acadie? Ou à la Rivière-Ouelle? Les registres sont incomplets/manquants pour les deux endroits. Certains croient qu'ils se seraient mariés à Charlesbourg, peu probable, ce n'était plus la résidence de la famille Mignier depuis longtemps. André Mignier et sa famille ont séjourné en Acadie pendant 9 ans, où leur fille Marie demeurera, s'étant mariée là.^[2] Ils revinrent dans la colonie du Canada, où ils s'installèrent à la Rivière-Ouelle, ils y sont en 1692. Robert s'y trouve avec son épouse en 1691, possiblement sur un contrat de travail. Robert est absent des actes notariés qui ont été inventoriés, donc difficile de déterminer où.

Leur premier enfant connu, Marguerite, est baptisée à Charlesbourg le 12 octobre 1691. Ils sont dits demeurant dans cette paroisse sur l'acte et non habitants de la paroisse.^[3][4] Par la suite, on trouve Robert Morin dans les registres religieux à la Rivière-Ouelle au mariage de Marie Anne Meigne (Mignier) avec Philippe Boucher en 1693, et à d'autres mariages dans cette région par la suite, sa fille Marie Françoise y étant baptisée en 1695.^[5]

Bedeau
Le 7 janvier 1718 il est présent à la sépulture d'une enfant à Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière. En mars 1718 il ondoya un enfant, fils de Mathurin Brisson dit Morillon et de Marguerite Morin (sa fille) à Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière. Il a été présent à quelques autres sépultures et est cité bedeau à Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière.^[5]

Décès
Robert Morin est décédé entre le 18 février 1722 et le 22 avril 1727. Il était présent et stipulait pour sa fille Marie Madeleine lors de son contrat de mariage du 14 février 1722 devant le notaire Étienne Janneau. Robert Morin ne pouvait pas signer.^[6][7] Le 22 avril 1727, sa veuve, Marie Françoise Mignée, fut inscrite sur la liste « veuve Robert Morin » sur une Ordnance de l'Intendant liée aux soins de son père, André Mignée.^[8]

Robert Morin was probably born in France^[1], his date of birth is unknown, 1674 is an unsupported estimation of the Nos Origines site, and no record found gives him an age. It is highly unlikely that he would have been only 16 when he married.

Marriage
Robert Morin and Françoise Mignier were married about 1690, the place and date of the marriage are unknown. Were they married in Acadie? Or in Rivière-Ouelle? The records are incomplete/missing for both locations. Some believe they married in Charlesbourg. This is unlikely as Charlesborg was no longer the residence of the Mignier family. André Mignier and his family lived in Acadie for 9 years, where their daughter Marie remained after marrying there.^[2] They returned to the Canada colony, and settled in Rivière-Ouelle. Robert was in Riviere-Ouelle with his wife in 1691, possibly on a work contract. Robert is absent from inventoried notarial acts, so it is difficult to determine where.

Their first child, Marguerite, was baptized in Charlesbourg on 12 Oct 1691. They are said to be demeurant dans cette paroisse (staying in this parish) on the record and not habitants of the parish.^[3][4] Thereafter, Robert Morin is found in religious records in Rivière-Ouelle at the marriage of Marie Anne Meigne (Mignier) with Philippe Boucher in 1693, and at other marriages in that area thereafter, his daughter Marie Françoise being baptized there in 1695.^[5]

Church Warden
On 7 January 1718, he was present at the funeral of a child in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière. In March 1718, he gave lay baptism to a child, the parents being Mathurin Brisson dit Morillon and Marguerite Morin (his daughter) at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière. He was present at a few other funerals and was cited as beadeau of Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière.^[5]

Died
Robert Morin died between 18 Feb 1722 and 22 Apr 1727. He was present and stipulating for his daughter Marie Madeleine at her marriage contract of 14 February 1722 before Notary Étienne Janneau. Robert Morin did not sign.^[6][7] On 22 Apr 1727 his widow, Marie Francoise Mignée, was listed as "veuve Robert Morin" on an Ordnance of The Intendant related to the care of her father, André Mignée.^[8]

Des recherches approfondies sur les registres paroissiaux de la collection Drouin pour 1690 à Charlesbourg, Riviere-Ouelle et Notre-Dame (Québec) n’ont révélé aucun acte de mariage entre Robert Morin et Françoise Mignier. Il est possible qu’ils se marient soit en Acadie, soit à Rivière-Ouelle, pour lesquels de nombreux records manquent. En 2012, Betrand Desjardins, PRDH, interrogé sur Robert Morin, a fait ce commentaire par courriel: «Robert Morin est juste l’un de ces individus qui se sont mariés où les dossiers ne nous parviennent pas, qui n’ont pas signé un contrat de mariage (en fait, 70 à 75% des couples ont fait) et qui n’a pas venir comme quelqu’un qui pourrait être tracé. Pas de feu, pas de raison particulière, juste aléatoire! Je crains que si quelque chose existait qui permettrait de découvrir son origine, il aurait été trouvé maintenant... "

Extensive searches of the Drouin Collection's parish register files for 1690 in Charlesbourg, Riviere--Ouelle and Notre-Dame (Québec), have revealed no marriage record between Robert Morin and Françoise Mignier. It is possible that they married either in Acadie or in Rivière-Ouelle, for which many records are lacking. In 2012, Betrand Desjardins, PRDH, when asked about Robert Morin, made this email comment: "Robert Morin is just one of these individuals who married where the records did not reach us, who did not sign a marriage contract (actually, 70 to 75% of couples did) and who did not come as someone who could be traced. No fire, no special reason, just randomness! I am afraid that if something existed which would permit discovering about his origin, it would have been found by now..."
