Biography

Noriyuki "Pat" Morita was an American film and television actor who played Matsuo "Arnold" Takahashi on Happy Day (1975–1983) and Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid movie series. Morita was nominated for the 1985 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid. Morita also voiced the Emperor of China in the Disney animated film Mulan (1998) and portrayed Ah Chew in Sanford and Son (1974–1976).
