Ennio was born on 10 November 1928 in Rome, Italy. ^[1] His parents were Mario Morricone and Libera Ridolfi. ^[1]

He married Maria Travia on or after 16 October 1956 at the Trastevere church of the Saints Cosma e Damiano. ^[2] They had four children. ^[1]

He died on 6 July 2020 in Rome. ^[1]
