Elizabeth-Jane Morris was the oldest child of William "Nimrod" Morris and his wife, Elizabeth "Ella" (Hazen) Morris. She was born in November 1765, not long after their marriage, in Edgefield, South Carolina Colony.
Called "Jane," she grew up in South Carolina; in 1687 she married Moses Ward Taylor b: 1762 in Camden, Kershaw Co., South Carolina. The couple lived in Edgefield, South Carolina, and had 9 children:[1]

Alas, "Jane" (Morris) Taylor died on February 25, 1802, just after giving birth to her 9th and final child. Her husband survived her passing. He remarried on March 23, 1815 in Jones County, Georgia, to widow, Rachel (McGee) Bonner, b. 2 Oct. 1781; she died on October 21, 1821 of a fever. He caught it and died in Jones Co., Georgia, on November 6, 1821. [2][3]
