I too am a Hall descendant. My maiden surname is Hall. I am afraid the "U" and "UU" referenced in your post (re: Henry H Hall, Born March 1, 1827 in New York State) represents "Unknown" information. Perhaps I am mistaken; my interpretation of the genealogy note you have come across would be that Henry Hall's father was understood to be a "Hall", and his given name is unknown. Likewise, Henry Hall's mother is presumed to not be a "Hall" by birth, and her given and family names are unknown to the researcher at the time he/she compiled this info. I have researched several distinct Hall lines (unrelated progenitors/unrelated original immigrant Hall men). Have found genetic genealogy a tremendous help where paper trail fails... Do you happen to have a GEDmatch account?
