JOHN F. MORRIS JR.
SMITHFIELD - John Franklin Morris Jr., 60, of 12 Riverside Drive, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 1996, at Riverside Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Hampton, living 23 years in Smithfield.
Mr. Morris served four years in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a planner and estimator (pipefitter) from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Morgan Morris of Smithfield; a son, Robert Franklin Morris of Hampton; a grandson, Ryan Franklin Morris of Hampton; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Bette L. Harris of Georgetown, Del.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Betty H. Joy of Newport News; a niece; and several aunts and cousins.
A memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Mason and Cedar Streets, Smithfield. The family will receive friends following the service. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, in Peninsula Memorial Park with Masonic Rites by Bremond Masonic Lodge #241 A.F.&A.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Music Ministry of Trinity United Methodist Church or the Isle of Wight Rescue Squad.
