John Morris was born in 1872 in Clay Cross, Derbyshire, England. His parents are shown as John and Eliza Morris ^[1].

John is shown in the 1881 census with his family: John 54 born Lowdham, Nottinghamshire, Eliza 45 born Notthingham, Henry 18, Tom 16, Sarah 11, John 9, George 5, Samuel 3 all born Clay Cross ^[2].

In the 1891 census, his father John Morris is not shown. Family is Eliza 55 Notthingham, John 19, George 15, Sam 13, Ralph 8 all born Derbyshire and granddaughter Charlotte Morris aged 6 years. John is shown as single and a coalminer ^[3].

John (22) marries Elizabeth Charlotte Reeves (21) on 3 Dec 1894 in Canning-Town, Essex, England and his father is shown as John Morris and her father James Reeves. They had 2 daughters both born in England ^[4].

In the 1911 census, his wife and two daughters are shown but he is not and his wife remarries in 1911 to George Henry Taylor.

He passed away before 1911.
