Biography

Retrieved March 6, 2021, from http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article85943689 Mrs Ellen Upton, wife of Mr Sloper Upton,passed away on Friday morning last at her late residence, Grose Vale. The subject of this notice was in her 42nd year. For some time she lived with her husband on Mr B Hall's farm at Wilberforce-road, and subsequently went to Grose Vale to reside. The late Mrs Upton retired to her bed on Thursday night, and on the following morning when one of the family went to awaken her was shocked to find that she was dead. Mr J B Johnston, J.P., District Coroner, held an inquiry when an open verdict was returned,the medical evidence going to show that death was due, probably, to a fit. The burial took place on Saturday in the Church of England cemetery at Grose Vale. Rev. H Tate was the officiating clergyman, and Mr A Price the undertaker.

She never lived there in her life." The late Mrs Upton was the fourth daughter of Mr George Morris, of Wyong, and a sister of Mrs F. A. Cupitt, of Windsor.
