Mary Morris was christened on 13 Sep 1818 at St Helens Chapel of Ease in the parish of Prescot, Lancashire. She was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Morris. Her father's occupation was recorded as labourer, and the family's address as Windle.
Mary married William Rose on 15 Dec 1839 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. Both were of full age (21 or more), and neither had been married before. William was a rope maker of Eccleston, Mary was of Windle. Their fathers were named as William Rose (labourer) and Joseph Morris (engineer). The witnesses were Thomas Molyneux and Sarah Bradley.
Their daughter Ellen was born in 1840, and christened on 8 Nov 1840 at Christ Church in Eccleston. Her father's occupation was recorded as rope maker, and the family's address as Eccleston.
By June 6th 1841, they were living in Eccleston, next door to William's mother and siblings. William was working as a rope maker.
William died in 1853, and was buried on 16 Nov 1853 at St Thomas' Church in Eccleston. His age was recorded as 38, and his address as Eccleston.
Mary married William Oxley in 1854 at Manchester Cathedral.
Their daughter Mary Jane was born in 1855 in Prescot, Lancashire.[1]
