Samuel Morris is the first son of Samuel Morris (born 1670) and Mehitable (Mayo) Morris. He was born August 13, 1695, in Roxbury, Massachusetts. He succeeded his father at "Myanexit Farm" in Thompson, Connecticut, and established a business as a "trader," buying up the produce of the neighboring country and exchanging it for goods in Boston. Samuel published his intentions to marry Abigail Bragg of Bristol, Rhode Island, on September 7, 1728. Children of Samuel and Abigail are:

In the fall of 1755, he sold a large part of "Myanexit Farm" to Benjamin Wilkinson, of Smithfield, Rhode Island for 20,000 pounds (old tenor) and moved to Smithfield, where he soon died (June 13, 1756)

In the Fall of 1755 he sold his property and removed to Smithfield, RI where he died the next year.
In 1756, his two oldest sons, Samuel and Henry, were soldiers serving in Lt Col Nathan Payson's company from Woodstock at Lake George in the French and Indian War. from Find A Grave
