Biography

Perlina Morris was born in 1870.

She married her second cousin once removed, Joel Christopher Moore, in 1892 and they had 6 children:

  1. Sadie Frances Moore
  2. Charley Bryon Moore
  3. Naomi Jane Moore
  4. John Joshua Moore
  5. Calvin Ellery Moore
  6. Iota Marie Moore

She passed away in 1964.
At the time of her death, her residence was in Hartford Township, Pike County, Missouri.
She actually died in Vandalia, Audrain County, Missouri.
She is buried at the Fairmount Cemetery, Middletown, Mongomery County, Missouri.

Research Notes

Find-A-Grave and her Death Certificate (both cited below) give her name as Perlina, even though the grave marker pictured on Find-A-Grave gives her name as Paulina. However, the manager of that profile has given assurance that the grave marker is in error, and that written family records all refer to Perlina. Furthermore, family members alive during her lifetime, all knew her as Perlina. Therefore, Perlina is the name used on this profile.

The origin of the misspelling of her name is probably the US Census. In the 1880 Census she is listed in the household of her parents Joshua and Louisa Morris as Paulina J. Morris.[1]
