Research Notes

If the records from Cornwall are correct, they tell an unusual story. A Jennifer Morrish married Moses Bowden on May 27, 1797 in Perranzabuloe. They had two children, William (ca. 1800) and Mary Ann (ca. 1803).

Then, Jennifer Morrish married Richard Chesterfield on December 21, 1806 and February 14, 1807, and Moses Bowden married Grace Cottey on February 27, 1808. At the time, divorce was limited to the very wealthy, practically speaking.
