Sarah Jean Morrison Moore, born about 1712 in Ireland.
Migration
James and his extended family members migrated first to Northern Ireland.
Many family members emigrated to Pennsylvania in the 1720's-1730's.
In the 1740's- 1750's many moved on from Pennsylvania to North Carolina.
Research Notes
Because birth and marriage records are not available from Northern Ireland in the 1700's, this profile was developed from Birth and marriage records in Scotland recorded at ScotlandsPeople and DNA matches to Morrison, Simpson and Mcnair ancestors in Scotland. The inter-relationships of the Morrisons in Pennsylvania and North Carolina are revealed in large scale GEDmatch multi-kit analyses of dna kits already attached to profiles in WikiTree.
This James Morrison appears to be the proverbial James Morrison who "left his native Scotland and immigrated to Northern Ireland, probably Londonderry or around Fermanagh. Around 1730 he came with his family to America, settling in Lancaster County, Pa. Four of his sons, William (1704-1771), Thomas, James, Andrew (1718-1770) moved south to Iredell (then Rowan County)in the early 1750's, settling along Third Creek, south and West of Loray". This passage begins several Morrison Family biographies in Heritage of Iredell County[6] (Also note, the Andrew in this passage is "Andrew Morrison Sr" the son of James, "James Simpson Morrison" not the brother. i.e. William is Andrew's uncle.
