Biography

James E Morrison was born June 30, 1859 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.^[1] He was the son of John Morrison and Mary Teare. His father, John Morrison moved with his wife Mary Teare and their younger children to Halimand, Ontario, Canada sometime around 1863, where he became a farmer. James grew up in Canada on the farm with his two younger brothers, George, born New York, USA and Sidney, born 1865 Halimand, Ontario, Canada.

At age 2, (1860) he was in his parent's home in New York Ward 13 District 1, New York, New York, USA.^[2]

On 2 February 1881, James married Mary Jane McKay. They divorced on December 12, 1908 in Wayne County, Michigan.^[3][4]

They made their home in Michigan, USA, where he farmed, later moving to Oregon.

In the 1900 census James (age 40) was living in Cedar Creek, Wexford, Michigan, USA with children, Rosetta-16, Edward-12 and cynthia-9 in the home. His wife, Mary was missing on the 1900 Census. Marital Status: Married. Relation to Head of House: Head.^[5]

James arrived on 1 May 1920.^[6]

James died at the age of 61 on 3 December 1920 in West Portland, Multnomah, Oregon, USA.^[1][7]
