!MARRIAGE: to Guy Campbell James, 27 Sep 1917. Year and spouse name verified in "Loup Valley Queen" newspaper announcement dated 10-4-1917.
Their children were Dick Morris James and Virginia May (Silicz). Dick died. Virginia had one daughter, Helen Green Silicz (?) who had no children. This younger Helen was about 56 years old in 2002 and worked near Lake Isabella (east of Bakersfield, CA) . This information from Aunt Thelma.
Lived in Williams, Arizona then later moved to northern California.
Information from family records kept by Ethel B. Morrison.
Joan Morrison, a niece, wrote "The best [relatives] of all was Aunt Helen and Uncle Guy. They always had neat things like a rumble seat or a convertible. Aunt Helen was Daddy's (Lee Morrison), only sister. They worked and lived down in the Los Angeles area doing defense work. Defense work was anything from airplanes, tanks, jeeps, bombs, or anything that had to do with the war effort. People who never worked before could find a place to work during the war. They [Helen and Guy] had a little black dog named Teddy. He was a cute dog, and fun to play with. Aunt Helen and Uncle Guy lived upstairs in our house for awhile before Daddy [Lee] died [in 1947]. We had started to make apartments out of our upstairs because there was no place for people to [rent] during the war. But we liked to have them close by. Aunt Helen started working in the cafeteria at the phone company. But Daddy was a staunch Republican and Uncle Guy was just as committed to the Democrats so, during election time, we liked them to stay apart."
