Note: !BIRTH: 1880 Census shows his birthplace as Pennsylvania, and his age as 21 in 1880.
Harry was born in Pennsylvania, moved to Illinois, and in 1870 to York county, Nebraska with his parents, where he grew to manhood. Harry was the owner of the first livery stable in Bradshaw.
He was the first of the Morrison boys to move to Custer county and was a very early homesteader in the Seven Valley area. He homesteaded in 1879 just north of the present site of Callaway. He was a bachelor and lived in a dugout near relatives. Shortly after he arrived, they all became ill. After the family had been under quarantine for quite a long time, they ran out of food and were unable to get any more. The Olive brothers, hearing of their plight, brought a quarter of beef to the stricken family. Although his mother, Virginia, came up from York county to nurse him better, Harry never recovered. When he died, his uncle, E.K. Lichtenberger, Sr., helped to take Harry's body back to Bradshaw for burial. Harry was 24 years old when he died.
