I see this question has been asked before, but do not see where it was answered...What is the source for the given name David? If there is no supporting documentation, this needs to go into a research note section, or perhaps just go, as this is so very frequently a remnant from when someone was attempting to conflate one man for another. Middle names were highly unusual for when this man was born and truly didn't become common practice until the 19th century. Can anyone source verify that Samuel Morrison was named "Samuel David Morrison" as on his profile page? I am going to Ireland & Scotland next year & will attempt researching his name in Stewartstown & Coleraine. If someone has already done this, I will appreciate knowing. I have searched many public records here & worked with early genealogists who carefully verified all their work & no where is he named "Samuel David Morrison". All historical public records show him as "Samuel Morrison" with no middle name & no middle initial. I am a direct descendent of Samuel Morrison thru his son Ephraim Morrison b. 1759. Thank you for any response.
Everyone that has added David as his middle name has no resources for it. I have yet to find anything as well. Could you add the middle name to your list to confirm in your search?
