Morrow was United States Ambassador to Mexico from 1927 to 1930. He served in the Senate from December 3, 1930, until his death. As a partner in J.P. Morgan bank, Morrow was one of the richest men in New Jersey.
He an his wife, the poet Elizabeth Cutter Morrow, had four children.
