Biography
Ann was baptised on July 13th 1817. Her parents were George and Ann. George was listed as a Coal Miner. They were listed as living in the Forest of Dean, an extra parochial area (ie outside any parish boundaries) within the Forest. [1]
In 1837 Ann, who was under age, married James Ellaway, a Shoe Maker, as was Anne's father George. The couple both lived in Yorkley. [2]
In 1842 James, Ann and their daughters Elizabeth and Hannah aged 4 and 2 sailed to New York with a large family party including Ann's father George and a number of her siblings. [3]
In 1850 James and Ann and their 3 daughters were living in East Birmingham, Allegheny, Pennsylvania and James was a labourer. [4]
Ann died in 1860 aged 43 [5]
