Mary was born in Westbury on Severn, Gloucestershire, England, in 1839.[1] She was the daughter of John Morse and Damaris Bailey. John was a Collier. She was enumerated in the 1841 census [2] residing with her family in Yorkley, Gloucestershire.
Mary married Joseph Carwood on February 5, 1860, in Newnham, Gloustershire.[3] The couple would have at least three children. Mary and Joseph were enumerated in the 1861 census. Jospeh was a labourer. [4] living in West Dean, Gloucestershire. In 1871, [5] Mary was enumerated with Joseph and three children residing in Coleford, Monmouthshire, Wales. In 1891, [6] Mary, Joseph, and son Frederick were living in Stepney, London. Mary's husband passed away in 1898. In 1911 [7] Mary was living with her son Frederick's family in Thanet, Kent.
Mary passed away in 1927.[8] Her death was registered in the second quarter in Thanet, Kent.
