Biography

Charles Solomon, born October 23, 1849. He entered the Confederate army at 14 years of age. After the war closed he studied medicine, graduated, and received his diploma from the Savannah Medical College in March, 1870. In 1871 he moved to Corsicana, Texas. He studied law, and in April, 1876, was appointed Clerk of the Court of Appeals at Galveston, Texas. In December, 1881, was appointed Clerk of the Supreme Court, and remained such until his death, May 13, 1902, at Austin, Texas. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. A wife and one daughter survive him.[1]
He was the son of Lorenzo Morse and Elizabeth Spalding.
