Edward Morse was married to Caroline Terry on June 4, 1837 in Fairhaven, Mass.
Edward Morse, son of Joshua and Parnal (Mason) Morse was b. in Acushnet May 16, 1813. After his education in the public schools, he learned the trade of ship carpenter, at which occupation he worked many years in Fairhaven and New Bedford shipyards and at the U.S. Navy yard at Brooklyn, N.Y. He afterwards engaged in the lumber and saw-mill business. He conducted the work on his farm on Morse Lane, raising many horses, of which he was a great lover, and selling some for a large price. He was an upright, honorable man, respected by all.
