James and Gertrude Mortimer had four children together; Hubert, Douglas, Gertrude and Kathleen. The family lived at 31 Seymour Rd., Gloucester. James Mortimer worked as an engineer, and was also involved in the construction of the Panama Canal before 1911.
He died 15 Apr 1949 in Gloucester. [3] Probate was granted 20 Jul 1949.[4]
