On May 13, 1789, paperwork was filed with the Charlotte County Courthouse regarding the sale of land by Isaac Ashworth to John Haley on January 23, 1768. His widow, Susannah Ashworth, was unable to travel to court to acknowledge the sale and that she relinquished her right of dower. The document gave three gentlemen, Langston Bacon, Robert Bedford, and Little Joe Morton, power of attorney in her name.[1]Roberts-9749 01:27, 15 July 2019 (UTC)
