1864 Born son of John W Morton and Lydia Adline Ledbetter. Born near Bloomington in 1863 per 1947 newspaper.

1884 Married LQ [Louisa Quintina] Hatley daughter of Green and Margaret Hatley July 21 in Stanly, NC . Son of John W Morton and Adline Morton. Married February 21 per 1947 newspaper but marriage archive says July 21.

1884 Purchased farm in Albemarle

1947 Was a Justice of the Peace. Lived on Albemarle, Route 4. Lived at this same farm purchased 63 years ago. Has 10 children, 9 still living: Mrs. Zora V. Hatley, Mrs. H. S. Williams [Flora Mae], G.C., J.J., G. Hobart, Claude B., Mrs. D. A. Bowers, Mrs. D.M. Smith, Mrs. Shelley Bowers. 39 grandchildren including Mrs. Tina Ellen Allen, 24 great grand children, and 1 great great grandchild.
