Biography

John Morton was born in about 1840 in Holbeach, Lincolnshire. He was the son of the Reverend James Morton and Margaret Morton.

John became a doctor. He married Emily Barker on 1 Aug 1866 in Holbeach, Lincolnshire. Both were 26. Their fathers were named as James Morton and Joseph Chamberlayne Barker, Esquire.

John worked as a doctor in Guildford for 40 years. John and Emily appear to have been childless, as no child appears in any census in their household.

Emily died on 15 May 1904, aged 64, in Guildford, and was buried in Holy Trinity Church in Guildford.

John died on 21 Apr 1905, aged 65, in Guildford, and was buried with Emily.
