Biography

Ann B. "Nancy" Moseley was born in 1785, a daughter of Benjamin Moseley and Amey Giles. Evidence was presented at the County of Amelia Courthouse on February 28, 1833, supporting the fact that Ann, and her sisters Mary (Moseley) Watkins and Eliza (Moseley) Branch were the only children and heirs of Benjamin Moseley, deceased. [1]

On June 6, 1802, in Powhatan county, Virginia "Nancy Branch Moseley," a daughter of Benjamin Moseley, married Joseph Cocke. [2]

Joseph Eggleson Cocke was born about 1770, in Mankintown, Goochland county, Virginia, a son of Stephen Cocke and Jane Segar Eggleston. Joseph passed away in 1807. [3]

Ann (Moseley) Cocke married secondly, Samuel Jones, a son of Samuel Jones, who died in April, 1784, in Amelia county, Virginia. Samuel's father was a veteran of the American Revolutionary War, and Daughters of the American Revolution Ancestor#A062610. His wife was Mary Giles. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of their son, Samuel Jones, who married Ann Branch (Mosely) Cocke. [4]
