Today the Heavens opened and the Lord called our Mother home. Darlene Sauve passed away on September 15, 2018.
Darlene Frances Moser was born November 7, 1938 to Walter and Leila (Groleau) Moser, and was a lifetime resident of the Rapid River area.
In 1959, she married Lawrence “Buzz” Sauve at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Rapid River. Lawrence preceded her in death in August, 1994.
Darlene was blessed with three sons, Mark Alan, Michael Lawrence, and Brent Lee, all of Rapid River. She was busy raising her sons, attending all of their school and sport functions and working. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school events. She last worked at Delta-Schoolcraft Intermediate School District as a Vocational Education secretary for 25 years. She enjoyed and loved spending time at her cottage at Round Lake. Photography, quilting, the outdoors, swimming, shopping, and family and friends filled her life.
After retiring, Darlene and Teddy Morrison, her best friend and companion, traveled throughout many states and vacationed for the winter months in Biloxi, MS. and Surprise, AZ. where they enjoyed the beautiful warm and sunny weather.
She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and St. Charles Choir for many years.
Left to cherish Darlene’s memory are her sons, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren; Mark and his wife Cathy, Mike and his wife Carol and Brent and his wife Sandra. Granddaughter Jessica Sauve-Syed and husband Adnan, and grandson Blair Sauve. Step-grandsons; Richard Kuehl, his wife Shelly and great granddaughter Rylee, Casey Kuehl and his wife Kayela and great-grandsons Dylan, Brendyn, and Jayce. Teddy Morrison who she cherished for many years with his extended family. Daughter, Christine, Karl Freund, granddaughters Paige, Megan, and Jordan, and son Michael Morrison. Brother Clifton Moser and his wife Gail, sister Brenda Patana and her husband John, sister-in-law Carole who was married to brother Allen Moser, sister-in-law Marge Sauve, sister-in-law Judy and husband Pierre Tousignant, and sister-in-law Lois Eis, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Allen Moser, nephew Shayne Moser, Sr, and very special aunt, Rita LaBumbard.
Darlene’s family wishes to thank Mary Soderman and Hospice for the love and comfort they provided.
The family of Darlene will receive friends on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 2:00 until 5:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 6:00 PM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Rapid River with Rev. Father Joseph Augustine officiating. Luncheon will follow Mass in the Church Parish Hall. Burial will be in the Rapid River Cemetery. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Sauve family.
