• Mamie Willa Mote is the daughter of Walter C. Mote (1875-1937) and Cora Bell Strain (1876-1966). She married John Dewey Edge (1897-1984). Together they have three children:

1. Eugene Franklin Edge (1927-2005) 2. Willa Anne Edge (1928- ) 3. Martha Claire Edge (1932-2013)

OBITUARY: "The Calhoun Times", Vol. 115, No. 56: p. 12. MRS JOHN (MAMIE) EDGE Mrs. John (Mamie) Edge, 83, of 609 Boulevard Heights, Calhoun, died Wednesday at 6:25 p.m. in Gordon Hospital, following an illness of six weeks. Mrs. Edge was born in Gordon County, April 27, 1901, a daughter of the late Walter and Cora Strain Mote. She had spent her entire life in Calhoun and Gordon County and was married to the late John Dewey Edge who died Feb. 1, 1984. Mrs. Edge was a member of the Calhoun First Baptist Church, the Philathea Sunday School Class, the Hillhouse Garden Club, and the Echota Vanettes. Survivors include, two daughters, Mrs. Martha Clarie Schwartz of Calhoun, and Mrs. Ann Fiquette of West Point; a son, Eugene Edge of Calhoun, a sister, Mrs. Gladys Johnson of Lakemore, Ohio, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
