Joseph was born in 1860. He was the son of Phillip Mott and Margaret Streicher. He married Emma L. Bliss in Montana, but I haven't been able to find out much about her. He passed away in 1926 and is buried in Jefferson City Cemetery in Jefferson City, Montana.
