Martha, daughter of Simon and Christina Motz, was married to Matthew Laird by a Justice of the Peace for Wayne County, Ohio on 7 May 1829.[1]
The couple were the parents of eleven children and made their home in Hayesville, which lay in that part of Wayne County which was taken to form Ashland County in 1846. Martha passed away in Hayesville, on 8 June 1894. She was laid to rest at the Synagogue-Church of God Cemetery in Hayesville.[2]
