Jean Baptiste Mouton, son of Jean Mouton of Acadia and Marie Marthe Borda, was born in Louisiana in 1784. He married Marie Angelique Martin June 1, 1801 in St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, Louisiana.[1]
In 1803 they were counted on the census in Carencro, Attakapas, Louisiana, with 80 cattle on 5 arpents of land.[2]
He was 53 when he died in 1837; he was buried at St. John Cemetery in Lafayette, Louisiana.[3]
