Thomas Mowbray was born in Leicestershire, England.

Thomas Mowbray was born in about 1823.

Thomas Mowbray of full age, resident of Sheepshed and the son of John Mowbray married Elizabeth Dexter, a minor of Sheepshed on 14 May 1843 in Shepshed, Leicestershire, England. John Hillier and Anna Clarkson were witnesses, T C Price, Curate officiated. Interestingly despite Elizabeth being a minor, there is no parent named on the marriage certificate. Thomas, John and Elizabeth's professions are given as framework knitter. Banns were read for three weeks commencing 19th March 1843. ^[1][2][3]

Thomas's wife, Elizabeth died age 28 and was buried in Shepshed on 21st January 1851. ^[4] Elizabeth was aged 28, according to her death registration at the GRO:

At the time of the 1851 census on 30th March, Thomas Mowbray, widower (28, a F W K in worsted) was living at King Terrace, Sheepshed, Loughborough, Leicestershire, England with his two daughters, Ann (4) and Hannah (2). ^[6]

Thomas Mowbray died in 1858, age only 35 years and was buried on 16 May 1858 in Shepshed. ^[7]
