Biography
Mary Ann (Mowen) Hickey was born on 15 August 1866 in Illinois, United States.
Mary married John Hickey (1862 - 1946) on 7 April 1891 in Logan County, Illinois. Their son was John Wesley Hickey (1894 - 1936).
On 12 June 1900, John and Mary Hickey and their children John, Marguerite, and William; nephew William Maloney, and servant Samuel Potts lived in Broadwell Township, Logan County, Illinois. John was a farmer. The oldest two children were attending school.[1]
On 18 April 1910, John and Mary Hickey and their children John, Margaret, and William; along with a boarder, Margaret Maloney, lived at 1019 Pulaski Street in Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois. John was a driver for a lumber yard and son John was a dry goods store salesman.[2]
In January 1920, John and Mary Hickey and their children John, Margaret, and William lived in East Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois. They rented their home. John was a tenant farmer, helped out by sons John and William who were farming on shares.[3]
On 3 April 1930, John and Mary Hickey and their sons John W. and William lived at 128 S. Logan in Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois. They rented their home for $45 a month and owned a radio. John was a fireman at a greenhouse, son John was a biscuit factory salesman, and William was an insurance agent.[4]
On 13 April 1940, John and Mary lived with their son William, his wife Julia, and their son John at 320 Wyatt Avenue in Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois (the house is still standing in 2022).[5]
Mary died (age 82) on 23 November 1948 at the home of her son, William, at 320 Wyatt Avenue after a long illness.[6] She was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln, Logan County, Illinois, United States.[7]
At the time of her death, she had four grandchildren.[6]
