Biography

Elisabeth (Betty) Moyes was born 25 June 1791 and was baptised on 3 July 1791 in Aberdour, Fife, Scotland ^[1], the daughter of Robert Moyes and Nelly Morris.

She married Alexander Dewar on 5 December 1813 in Dron, Perthshire, Scotland ^[2] and their children were Catherine Dewar, Alexander Dewar Jr, Laurence Dewar, Elisabeth Dewar and Charles Dewar.

Betty died on 5 May 1823 at St Andrews and St Leonards, Fife, Scotland ^[3], eight days after the birth of her son Charles ^[4] and the day following his baptism.
